Job Posting for The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine


The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, a nonprofit located in Norway whose mission is to provide support to people affected by cancer, has recently been awarded a $55,000 grant from the Next Generation Foundation. Located in Blue Hill, Maine, the Next Generation Foundation is a granting organization supporting education, health enhancement and basic human needs.

The award will be used to hire an Executive Director as well as to invest in technology platforms. Founded in 2015 by local cancer survivors, the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine is a place where those affected by cancer can gather to participate in a wide variety of programs and find the support they need as they deal with the challenges of cancer. “The need for local cancer support services is great” commented Barbara Deschenes, President of the board of directors. “Staffed by volunteers and open limited hours, we strive to increase our ability to serve more clients.”

The Executive Director will provide oversight of program management activities and assist with financial management, fundraising activities, public relations and coalition development. “We are excited about the opportunity to hire someone to bring more stability to the Center” commented Judy Stone, Vice President and Chair of the search committee.
